It was Puck’s turn to laugh, loudly too. But not as loud as she was before. But it was just hilarious how easily embarrassed she could get. And he knew she was extremely embarrassed because of the fact he could feel the heat from her blush through his shirt, almost as if she was touching his skin but she wasn’t. He got why she was reacting the way she was, it was him after all. So, yeah. The first thing that came to his mind was something dirty, but that’s basically a natural reaction for him. So, in his mind that doesn’t count. Plus, it’s not like he would say it out loud, especially right now. That would only make things worse, and right now he needed to work on getting her to stop hiding her face in his chest. And to stop himself from laughing. “Rachel,” He said after he caught his breath and was sure he wasn’t going to laugh again. “Come on, it’s not that bad. I promise.” He wanted her to know that her telling him that he room was soundproof wasn’t bad. Even though it was, so many thoughts flooded through his head when she first said it.
He sighed as she kept her face against his chest, running a hand down her back and then back up. He looked down at her when she pulled away finally, not able to help the small smile that spread across his face. “It’s fine. Totally forgotten, alright?” No, that was sort of a lie. He would forget about it, for now. They both knew he wasn’t going to be able to forget about that small piece of information, no normal guy would. But normal guys would also take advantage of that little fact and not let her forget it, so that’s where he started to differ from normal guys. He didn’t want to torture her about it. Especially when he knew how much of an affect it had on her. “Relax, baby,” He said, the word slipping out without even realizing he said it. And before he could show any sort of reaction about it he kept talking, “It’s not that big of a deal. It’s totally forgotten. I don’t even remember what we were talking about, do you?” He asked her, waiting to see her reaction to the word.
Her brain sort of did this little stutter when she heard him call her that. It wasn’t horrible or anything. She didn’t hate it. It didn’t make her angry or anything of the sort. It was just strange to have someone actually call her that. That was probably because she didn’t date people really and she’d never had anyone call her that before. It wasn’t that weird though. It sort of felt like it was completely natural to have him call her that but at the same time it embarrassed her a little bit. She was definitely embarrassing. But she got embarrassed a lot with this whole relationship thing. Not really because it made her uncomfortable or anything because it didn’t make her uncomfortable. It would just take some getting used to, that was all. Relationships were very new to her. Even adjusting to the idea of him actually wanting to be with her was a lot to deal with. Not because she thought he was lying about that- she knew him well enough after all those years to know that he wouldn’t be with her if he really didn’t want to be- but because she just never thought he would want to be with someone like her, the shy little glee diva.
“Liar,” she accused mildly. She knew he hadn’t forgotten about it and he definitely wouldn’t forget about it. She sort of wished that she hadn’t told him simply because that bit of information was a bit embarrassing. It was actually very embarrassing. She hadn’t even thought about the implications when she told him about it. Though it was probably a good thing that he knew that because at least he knew if they were going to be fighting again anywhere near in her house her room would be the best place because then no one else would hear them. But she also knew that that knowledge wouldn’t make something that mundane go through his head. She knew the fact that her room was soundproof would probably make perverted thoughts go through his head. Not because he was him necessarily but because he was a guy. Most guys would have a lot of perverted thoughts going through their head given that information. “You’re a liar. You didn’t forget anything. We both know that.” Reaching up she put both of her hands on his face, palms against his cheeks and leaned up, kissed him briefly. “But thank you for pretending you did. It helps. A little.”
His initial reaction was to freak out because now he was afraid she was going to wake his mom and sister up, but he in the end he just wound up laughing along with her. Because it was funny. The noise that she just made was hilarious and he knew she was going to be surprised, but not that surprised. It was genuinely funny. As she buried her face into his chest, he buried his into her hair. He was biting down on his bottom lip to keep himself from laughing too loud, not wanting to make her feel bad or wake up anyone in his house. If they weren’t already woken up, he was sure that if Rachel kept laughing they soon would be. He just held her against his chest as their laughter continued and eventually died down, leaving his chest heaving slightly and him panting slightly. He couldn’t remember the last time he laughed that much. So he let out a few more quick chuckles under his breath, pressing a kiss to the top of her head and sucking in a deep breath to try and regulate his breathing once again.
He craned his neck a bit so he could look at her, an amused smile playing on his lips. He really couldn’t believe that just happened. Only them. But the amused look was wiped off his face as soon as she mentioned that her room was soundproof. He would’ve answered her back with a comment as if he didn’t care, but right now he focused solely on that fact. “Wait, wh-?” He didn’t have a chance to finish before Rachel’s mouth covered his, kissing him. And of course he kissed back, he had. He wanted to. He could never get enough of kissing her, so he was going to take advantage of it when it happened. He pulled away his lungs began to burn slightly, a smirk on his face. “You can kiss me all you want,” He said before leaning forward and kissing her again, “But I still know your room is soundproof.” He knew she was hoping that maybe he got distracted with her kissing him and that would make him forget, but he was that nothing would be able to make him forget that little fact.
Rachel blushed bright red, embarrassed because she had absolutely no intention of telling him that, of letting him know that. So the fact that she told him was embarrassing and she couldn’t stop herself from blushing bright red and then burying her face against his chest. She didn’t want to tell him that her room had been soundproofed because she knew that something perverted could definitely go through one’s head once they heard that a room was soundproof and she didn’t want to think about that. It was embarrassing and she didn’t want to even think about those things though she couldn’t stop herself from thinking them. All manner of embarrassing things popped into her head, or things that would embarrass her, at least. Not things that would embarrass him, of course. She was almost positive that there was nothing that could embarrass Noah Puckerman. Or, well, nothing that could pop into a person’s head when they hear that a room is soundproof. That was for sure. So she just pressed her face against his chest in an embarrassed way, her cheeks burning, trying her best to hide that fact from him even though she was pretty sure he could feel the warmth from her blushing on his chest.
“You weren’t supposed to know that,” she mumbled, her voice muffled by his body. “I wasn’t supposed to tell you that. I didn’t mean to tell you that.” It was just something that he didn’t need to know. Why would he ever need to know that? Or, well, he wouldn’t ever need to, yes, but it was possible he would want to know that. Regardless, she didn’t like that she had just blurted it out to him. She shouldn’t have. She knew that but she was just trying to tell him that if he wasn’t careful she would end up waking up his mother and his sister and that wasn’t fair to his family, not by a longshot. And the words had just slipped out of her mouth before she could stop them. After a moment though she tilted her head up to look at him, face still bright red, her bottom lip tucked between her teeth in an embarrassed way. And for a few moments she just looked at him and then she sighed. “Can’t you just…pretend I never told you that? Forget about it or something?” It was a silly question but she had to ask.
He kept his eyes on her hands the whole time, waiting for her to answer. It was weird for him to be like this, almost pleading for someone to stay. It was just that after everything that happened between them in the last day or so made him want to be around her so much more. It felt like he needed to make up for lost time. Not only that, but he just loved being with her. Doesn’t matter where they were or who they were with, he just felt completely content with her there with him. He could get used to that idea too, having her there in bed with him. He knew she wasn’t comfortable with it. But he was hoping eventually she would, because he liked this way more than she did. And he wanted her to enjoy it just as much. Not that she didn’t enjoy it, he was sure she did. He just wanted her to feel completely comfortable, with everything. With his mom being there, and his sister. It shouldn’t really matter if they were there anyways, his door is always locked and his mom usually didn’t knock unless it was important. As soon as she agreed, his eyes lifted to meet hers and his hands loosened their grip on her hips. He slid them down a little bit more so they were resting on the outsides of her thighs, meeting her lips with a happy sigh. “Good,” He murmured against them, smiling slightly at her when they pulled away. His wolf went from being alert to relaxing again, almost as if it was curling up into a ball to fall asleep. It wasn’t restless anymore, it was just happy and satisfied with everything in that moment. And he was too. Rachel was staying, pushing himself off the bed a bit so he could kiss her again quickly. He smirked up at her before surprising her and rolling them over so they were on their sides again facing each other, pulling her right against him and tangling their legs together again.
Rachel really, really didn’t mean to but she let out this squeak that was almost a scream as he rolled them over out of bed but that was just because she wasn’t expecting it. It wasn’t that she was angry or anything of the like but she just hadn’t expected it at all so she let out that squeak and then as soon as she realized how loud she was being she started to laugh. She laughed loud and hard and actually pressed her face against his chest to try to muffle her laughter so that she didn’t wake up his family. She definitely didn’t want to wake up his mother and sister with her laughing. But she couldn’t help herself. She had to laugh at the way she had squeaked out that scream just because he rolled them over. So she just tried to muffle the laughter the best she could, her face against his chest, her body shaking. It was silly and she probably seemed crazy for laughing so hard but she couldn’t help it. She was in such a good mood that she couldn’t help it.
Once her laughter had subsided she tilted her head up so she could look at him, her eyes still sparkling with amusement, a small smile tilting up the corners of her lips. “Give a girl some warning next time or I might end up waking up the whole house. Your room isn’t soundproof like mine, you know.” Not that he actually knew her room was soundproof. She never saw a reason to tell him before. It didn’t seem like pertinent information. But the fact had just slipped out of her mouth without her considering the fact that it was new information to him. Tilting her head up she pressed her mouth against his, kissed him as she slid her arms around his neck, settling contently against him. She sighed quietly, her whole body relaxing again, her wolf perfectly calm and content, sleeping deep inside of her. It was still amazing to her that all it took for the wolf to quiet was for them to be close to each other. She was pretty sure it would always amaze her.
“Don’t,” He said quietly, his hands sliding down to her hips. The grip he had them tightened, the tips of his fingers digging in, but he made sure it wasn’t hard enough to hurt her. He just really didn’t want her to go anywhere. He liked this. Them just laying there for hours talking, it was nice. It felt right. So right. He just loved having her around. He could always sleep so much better when she was there with him. The night they marked each other was proof of that. He was always restless when he was alone or not with her, and that night they spent together just felt so perfect. He had never slept like he did that night before in his entire life. He didn’t care if his mother and sister were home, or that they would be there when they got up in the morning. He didn’t care about anything except for the girl sitting on his stomach. “Don’t go.”
This made him feel so vulnerable because for the longest time he’s kicked girls out of his bed, that was long before Rachel. Rachel was the girl that he wanted to wake up to in the morning, spend nights with whenever they got the chance. He wanted more nights like this. He wants that for hopefully forever. And after this, he can’t really imagine being fully okay with sleeping in a bed without her at his side. It just didn’t feel right. And he was going to do whatever he could to convince her to stay the rest of the night. The grip her had on her tightened just enough so she couldn’t move off of him, still making sure he wasn’t hurting her. His eyes casted away from hers and down to where her hands were on his chest. “Please,” He said after a long moment, sighing a bit. He just really didn’t want her to leave. Especially after the day they had.
Rachel’s eyebrows furrowed a little at first and she looked down at her hands on his chest, followed his line of vision. She hadn’t even put her hands there intentionally. She had just done it so she wouldn’t fall when she sat up like that. She didn’t even think about the fact that her hands weren’t resting on the bed or anything of the like. It wasn’t as though she had ever been in a position like that before. She had never shared a bed with anyone except her sister and that was a long, long time ago. And at the time she never had to worry about ending up sitting on her sister the way she was sitting on Noah. It wasn’t even close to being a concern. And then her eyes shifted down and she looked at the way he was gripping her hips, the way his fingers were digging in. It didn’t hurt. He had never hurt her. Even when they were kids, even when they first changed and the wolf could be rough he had never hurt her. Not once. Not even a little bit. It felt sort of nice in a strange way that he was gripping her hips that way. It made her feel wanted, like he actually enjoyed having her around.
“Okay.” She didn’t really want to have his mother and sister see her in the morning just because she had the feeling that it would be pretty awkward but at the same time she didn’t want to leave with him asking her to stay. It sort of felt like she shouldn’t leave. Her wolf sort of stood up at attention when he told her to stay, completely alert like it wasn’t sure if something bad was about to happen. It even whimpered deep down inside of her and she just knew she had to stay. She had to stay there. And the truth was that she didn’t want to leave if he wanted her there. The idea of leaving when she was wanted there was a bit scary, actually. So she leaned down and pressed a quick kiss to his mouth, her hands sliding down a little bit so that they were more on his stomach, closer to where she was sitting so she could lean over better. So she pressed her mouth against his, kisses him gently. “Okay. If you really want me to stay then I’ll stay, Noah.”
He let out a quiet groan when she pulled away, his wolf letting out a small whimper at the same time. He opened his eyes and looked up at her, shaking his head when she apologized. “Don’t be,” He said seriously, because there was no real reason for her to be sorry. She kissed him, really kissed him. So, what? Shit happens like that with them all the time. That sort of thing tends to also happen when two people are dating. So he definitely was not complaining, especially when kissing her is one of his favorite things to do. Scratch that, anything and everything that has to do with her is pretty fucking awesome. Kissing just happens to be one of his favorites. He smiled softly, “Heard you loud and clear.” He said with a content sigh, the tips of his fingers trailing up and down her spine again just like before. He knew she liked that, he could tell by the way she shivered almost immediately. He even let out a chuckle because it was funny how something so simple could cause that much of a reaction, but once again he wasn’t complaining.
He turned his head to the side a bit, brushing the tip of his nose against hers on the way and caught sight of his alarm clock on his nightstand. They must have been sitting there for a few hours, basically doing nothing but talking and exchanging a few kisses here and there. “So much for sleeping,” He said as he turned his head back towards her, a small smirk on his face. They were both exhausted from the running and the fighting and just everything about the past few days. But it was almost as if them just being together, calm and happy, was all they needed to just feel okay again. To be reassured that they were still together and nothing was going to get to them, at least he was hell bent on making sure nothing like that happened again. Fighting is natural, especially with them. They’re both insanely stubborn and headstrong, which some people may find toxic, but most consider it something that makes them good together. Just because they fight every once in a while, doesn’t mean he has to like. He was sure neither of them liked it. Definitely not if he gets that same sick feeling in the pit of his stomach every time.
Rachel furrows her eyebrows when he says that, about sleeping because at first she doesn’t understand what he means. And then she just turns her head slowly and looks at the clock, looks at the time. She had no idea they were awake as long as they were. How was it possible that they had been talking for that long? It didn’t seem possible at all. It felt like barely over an hour since they got back to his house. But that was probably because she was so tired when she first got there and she didn’t feel tired anymore. She didn’t feel even a little bit tired anymore and she felt much better because she didn’t have the dirt and mud all over her that she did when she first got there. She just felt so much more at ease than she had when she first got there so maybe she had just blocked out time. Time didn’t seem all that important when she was content. And she was content being there with him. Her wolf was calm, she was calm. Everything sort of seemed like it was supposed to be that way, that all she ever had to do was be near him to feel better and there she was, with him and feeling so much better.
Once she saw what time it was though she sat up instantly, surprised that they had been awake that long. She sat up so quickly she almost lost her balance and had to press her hands against his chest to keep herself from falling like a complete and total dork. And with her luck she would have fallen right off of the bed and made a huge thump that would have woken up his mother and sister- they were obviously home at that point. And she just didn’t want to wake up his whole family. Talk about embarrassing. It would be awkward to explain to his mother why she was half naked in his shirt in his bedroom in the middle of the night. Just because she knew about them didn’t mean that she thought the woman needed to know everything. “Oh.” She blinked at the clock like she was trying to be sure she read the time right as she sat there on his stomach, not even realizing the position was a bit awkward, or should have been even though she didn’t feel awkward. “I should probably head back home. You know. Before your mother and sister get up.”
Yep. She definitely knew that he didn’t mean it in a crazy way. It wasn’t exactly the kiss itself that stunned him for a moment, it was the fact that it wasn’t brief and quick, it was full force. He wasn’t expecting it, at all. Which made him an easy target, Rachel obviously taking full advantage of it. He was pushed onto his back before he even realized what was going on. He didn’t have to fight it really because then she was climbing on top of him and straddling him, her lips on his. He didn’t even remember what they were talking about before this happened. Or even how this happened for that matter. It seemed out of no where, well to most people it would have been. But he got her message through her actions. She understood what he meant by crazy. And he was glad, he figured she should by now considering he’s been calling her it for a while just never in the way that she is used to. That probably should have been some sort of indication that there was something between them, but he was too young and stupid to realize it. But he never, for one second, thought of her as actually crazy.
As her fingers passed over his pulse, he was sure that she was going to be able to tell exactly what she does to him. His heart doesn’t beat that fast for no fucking reason. It’s her, and…Basically, it’s just her. And he was actually embarrassed for a moment, his hands stalling for a split second as the began to slide up her thighs. But he just kissed her more passionately, his hands continuing their descent up until they were underneath his shirt and settled at her waist. Her skin underneath his hands, something he was sure he was going to get addicted to. Easily. He never got embarrassed before, at least not around her. It was weird how just the simplest touch could give away something so big, at least to him. And he was sure she was already aware exactly what she did to him, just by dealing with his bullshit and being there for him. But that was verification of an assumption. And it sort of freaked him out a little bit, yet at the same time it didn’t. This was Rachel, he wouldn’t expect it to go any differently. She’s made him experience things he honestly never thought he would feel with a girl, and that made him feel more at ease.
The truth was that Rachel hadn’t intended to climb on top of Noah and kiss him that way. She just didn’t know how to express to him without words that she knew what he meant and that she appreciated it. She knew most people thought she was genuinely crazy because she was reserved in so many ways and yet she could be a pushy little diva when it came to things. She tended to go a little bit crazy when it came to wanting things. She didn’t just want them for a moment. She wanted them because she needed them to feel good about herself. When she wanted something she went all out for it. She could get completely and totally obsessed and yes, maybe that seemed like insanity but it wasn’t insanity in her mind. It was devotion and dedication but people didn’t usually see it that way. They thought she was crazy for her obsessions and because of the way she dressed, because of how anal she could be about things. They thought she was crazy because she could be needy and emotional. They had even thought for a very long time she was crazy for being friends with Noah when they were so, so different. It seemed everything about her screamed crazy to other people. But she knew that he didn’t see her as crazy in that way. He never had. And she appreciated it.
He was so much better to her in that way than she probably deserved. She didn’t ever think she would be someone that he would like. She honestly didn’t think that she was the type of girl he would ever like. She had never admitted to anyone that she may have had a little bit of a crush on him when they were younger. When she was around thirteen she had a bit of a crush on him. Because he was sweet to her when most people weren’t and they were always together. And maybe her wolf was drawn to his even then. But she pushed it away because she was just his friend, his odd little friend and that was all she figured they would ever be. It hurt to like him so she made herself stop. And maybe that was silly. Maybe she should have just told him. Maybe they would have figured things out a long, long time ago. But that was in the past. Now they were together and her wolf let out the closest thing to a purr that a wolf could let out deep down inside of her, an extremely content sound and she knew that he was the only one that could bring it out of her. No one else could. No one else ever would. But she was also never that forward with anyone in any way so she was a bit embarrassed that she was just then. And after a moment she leaned back though she didn’t move. She just stayed where she was, her nose touching the tip of his and bit her bottom lip in a shy manner. “I’m sorry,” she said quietly. “I didn’t know how else to say what I wanted to say.”
It’s insane that he can tell exactly what every little move he makes does to her, even him putting his hand on her back. He felt her shudder, their bodies are right up against each other so he couldn’t really miss it. But he sort of loved that he gets a reaction out of her from every little touch or movement. Which is why when she pulls her shirt up a little bit, he decides to keep it going for a little bit. His fingertips tracing lightly long her spine on her lower back, a small smile on his face. He could tell her wolf liked it too, mainly by the way his was reacting. It almost felt smug, and just overall happy. He was sure the roles are reversed as well, when it comes to his wolf and how it reacts from her. Every time they touch or even remotely close to each other, his wolf is always there and alert. But at the same time, it isn’t. It’s there and he’s aware of it, but it’s in the background, watching. Which he doesn’t mind. And sometimes it would make a noise or something just to show how much it has affected it, both of them really. Before he even realized he was doing it, he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to the place he marked her. It seems like that was forever ago when it was really a few weeks. It was like he was always connected to her, just not like they are now.
It was crazy just how wrong she was about him getting sick of her. When he gets sick of people, he makes sure they know it. He’s not really afraid to be a jerk when he has to be, most people know that. She didn’t realize that he would never get sick of any of those things. Especially her ‘annoying babbling’, which he never truly found annoying. It might take him a while to admit it, but her voice was one of the things he loved about her. Sure, sometimes she can’t shut up but he’s learned over time to open his ears and actually listen to her. Rachel doesn’t say bullshit, whatever she says is real and happening. She wouldn’t talk a lot for no reason, even if she thinks it’s nonsense it never will be. He smiled wide at her, “You’re crazy,” He said with a slight shake of his head, brushing the tip of his nose against hers. “And I love you for it. So much.” He honestly doesn’t know where he would be without her crazy. At this point, he was sure he wouldn’t be able to live without it. It’s grown on him, and it’s actually his favorite thing about her, or one of his favorites at least.
Rachel knew he didn’t mean it in a horrible way when he called her crazy. Some people called her that in a way that was meant to be insulting but that’s not what Noah meant when he said that and she knew it. She was positive that he didn’t mean it in an insulting way. But the truth was that she sometimes got antsy when people called her that. She couldn’t get mad at him though because she knew that Noah loved her, that he didn’t mean it that way. She knew he wasn’t trying to hurt her but the problem was she was positive that if she talked to him about it, if she brought it up then they were just going to end up in an argument and she didn’t want to fight with him. When they fought she very anxious. And not just her but her wolf. Her wolf would start to pace and whimper. Her wolf would get so, so upset and she didn’t want her world upset again. They had just made up. Her wolf had just calmed down. It had just become happy again after all of the fighting they had been doing and she didn’t want to risk it happening again. She couldn’t deal with that again since it had sent them both running off after that and nearly got hurt. She just wanted things to be alright with them and so she knew that she couldn’t bring it up. She refused to put herself into a position where she would get into it with him again.
So, she sort of needed them to stop talking but she also didn’t want him to feel like she was ignoring him. She would never ignore him. She never could ignore him. Even when they were little it was like when he would talk she had to listen. She would pretend she wasn’t because sometimes the things he said were sort of rude or inappropriate but that was just Noah being Noah and they both knew that. But she always, always, always listened to him. She refused to make it seem like she wasn’t listening to him just then. Instead she needed a way to let him know she was listening and that she appreciated he wasn’t saying she was crazy in a rude way. So instead she sat up a little bit and she kissed him. She pressed her mouth against his and she put her hand against his shoulder. With the two of them lying down and relaxing she knew that there wasn’t much of a chance he was bracing himself for anything. They were just relaxing, after all. So she took advantage of that and pressed against his shoulder to roll him onto his back and then she slowly climbed on top of him, her mouth still pressed against his, kissing him so she was straddling his stomach, her hands on either side of his neck, her fingers brushing over his skin, feeling his pulse beneath her fingertips. She just needed him to know without using words that she knew he was calling her crazy in a loving way. And she appreciated that he loved her, that he accepted the things about her that others didn’t like one bit.
Miss you too.
I hope you’ll be home, soon. I…I don’t like when my family goes away for too long.
Soon, Rach.
Alright. It’s just…we all miss you.
